Heavy appliances, handled properly
Appliances are heavy, awkward and come with rules. Units that contain refrigerant, like refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners, can't just go in the trash. In New York City, for example, residents have to book a separate appointment to have the refrigerant removed before collection.
We take care of that by bringing these units to facilities that recover refrigerants and recycle the metal. You don't need to book anything with the city or wait at home for a separate pickup.
Our crews use dollies and straps, protect floors and door frames, and carry appliances up or down stairs. We remove units that are already disconnected; if a gas line or hardwired connection needs to be shut off, have a plumber or electrician do that first.
- Refrigerators and freezers, including refrigerant handling
- Washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers
- Window and portable air conditioners
- Removal from basements, kitchens and upper floors
- Metal recycled, not landfilled

Where it goes
Appliances go to scrap metal recyclers. Units with refrigerant go to facilities that recover it first, as required by federal and state rules.
Donate
Furniture, appliances and household goods in good shape go to local charities and reuse stores.
Recycle
Metal, cardboard, electronics and appliances go to recycling facilities that handle them properly.
Dispose legally
Only what can't be reused or recycled goes to licensed disposal sites. Never dumped on a curb or lot.
Before we arrive
- Disconnect first. Unplug units and have gas, water or hardwired lines shut off and capped by a pro.
- Defrost and empty fridges. Remove food and let freezers drain the day before.
- Measure the exit. Remove fridge doors if the unit barely fit in, or tell us and we'll do it.

Couldn’t be happier with this crew. They got back to me immediately with a reasonable quote and were in my Brooklyn warehouse space within half a business day. They demoed big metal and wood shelving units that were drilled into the floor, walls, and ceilings. They broke it all down and hauled it aw…

I called Junk All Mighty in Staten Island for a last-minute garage cleanout, and they showed up the same day. The crew was professional, friendly, and had everything loaded in under an hour. They made the whole process stress-free.

Appliance Removal: common questions
Do you remove refrigerators with Freon?
Yes. Refrigerators, freezers and AC units go to facilities that recover the refrigerant before the metal is recycled.
Will you disconnect my appliance?
We remove appliances that are already disconnected. Gas, water and hardwired electrical connections should be shut off by a licensed plumber or electrician.
Can you take an appliance from the basement?
Yes. Stairs are included, and our crew uses straps and dollies to move heavy units safely.
Do you take commercial kitchen equipment?
Yes, once it's disconnected. Restaurants and offices book us for walk-in coolers' contents, ranges, fryers and prep tables.
Is appliance removal cheaper than the city pickup?
City programs are often free but need appointments and curbside set-out. We're faster and take it from inside, starting at $100.
Which areas do you cover for appliance removal?
All five boroughs of New York City, Westchester County, Northern New Jersey and Philadelphia. See the list of service areas below for your city.
